Call of Duty

A lot of contraversy has sprung up with the violence and war like events Call of Duty portrays. I myself have a brother who plays this game and I think that it shouldn't be portraying the violence that soldiers actually go through in the war. Younger children like my brother, play this game and walk around like it's happening to them. My brother for instance, walks around the corner in my house and pertends to get blown up. I don't think he realizes that actual men and women could have this happen to them, he thinks it's "just a game". I don't think video games should be allowed to show war like events. I think that video games do not show the whole truth of what is happening in the war, although in some cases they are portrayed well (from what I know). I don't think it's fair to let something that is happening in real life have a reset button for the children and teens playing it. I think it gives them the idea that if they are in war, they are invinsable. In some cases however, games like Call of Duty are a "catch 22". Besides the violence and strong interpritations of war, games in general give you better hand/eye coordination. Games like Call of Duty, if played by a soldier were to play this game allow the soldier to "warm up" to what they are about to go through. At the same time however, it also reminds the soldiers that have left combat what they went through. In general I think Call of Duty has pros and cons. All and All, I feel like this game is innapropriate and unfair to those who serve our country.
