Trial of Sacco and Vanzetti

The Trial of Sacco and Vanzetti

Ferdinado Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were both anarchists who were convicted of murdering two men in the 1920's armed robbery in South Braintree. In the end, the two Italian immagrants were put up for execution on August 23, 1927.

South Braintree, Robbery: Four men attempt to rob a payroll company. In the end, two men were shot dead, and two others got away with handguns and a lot of cash. After hopping into another car, those guys got away with other men.

On april 9, 1927 the two men were sentenced to death by electracution.

I believe that Sacco could have been guilty due to his past "relationships" with murder trails.

Gangstaa Small Group Presentations

I learned a lot about different gangsters in the 1920's in our small group assignments. I learned (in my own project) about Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd. He used to be a family man, til he got tired of it and ran off to get a gun; leading to him holding up a grocery store at age 18. I learned that most of the gangsters each group studied were "bad enough" to land #1 on America's Public Enemy list. That's impressive! In my own group I learned to let everyone do their part. As long as I get mine done and contributed to the groups project portion. I enjoyed doing group work as at the same time, it was completely nerve wracking for such a small project. All and all, I did enjoy learning about the 1920's gangsters.

Acrostic Poem

People were mad,
Riots were startedf because of the ban of alcohol,
Organized crime caused police to get strict,
Help stealing alcohol also leaded to jail time,
Immagrants were not excepted any longer,
Beer was illegal,
It happend after WW1,
Times changed fast and drastically,
It was as if you were in a movie,
Older women thought Flappers were trashy,
No one was allowed to drink.

Rural based,
Organized crimecreated violence,
Alcohol was still banned,
Real gangsters were forming,
Installment plan was what the government wanted,
New look on life,
Gun violence grew,

Technology changed,
Women wore dresses that were shorter then before,
Everyone had different thoughts about the changes in the 1920's,
New fashion trends were formed,
Things changed drastically,
Indifferent, is what people wanted,
Electric cars were the future,
Short skirts showed off the "flappers gams".

Evolutionism vs. Religion

During the 1930's, it was illegal to teach evolutionism. I believe that religion should not be taught in schools. I think Scopes had the right idea to teach Evolutionism instead of it. To me, with the way some kids minds "take over" schools today, talking about religion would be a 'touchy-subject' for a few people. I believe talking about evolutionism is a good way to learn about it. It is science! We learn about science everyday in school. I think handling information based on religion could make classmates think the wrong way. On the other hand, I do think it would benefit in the long run because every religion, race, ethnicity, whatever you want to call it, are learning the same facts and gaining information about something new from different religions.
